No default theme for you! You are about to learn how to Install WordPress themes yourself! It's super easy. The hardest part is deciding which one you like and that suits your needs best. Let's get started.

Once you log into your WordPress dashboard, click on "Appearance", then "Themes". At the top of the page, click "Install Themes". On this page click "Featured", "Newest" and "Recently Updated" to search through the free themes available from WordPress. There is a "Preview" button that will allow you to get an idea of how each theme will look before you activate it.

You can also find hundreds of free WordPress themes online, so keep that in mind if nothing there catches your eye. They will also offer uber-simple installation instructions, the only difference will be downloading a .zip file to your computer then uploading it, as-is, to your blog. You do this by selecting "Upload" on the "Install Themes" page, locating the file on your computer and uploading it to your blog. If you have trouble locating the file, click the tab that pops up after the download is complete, right-click, and select "open containing folder". This works when you are using Firefox on a Windows PC. It is most likely very similar using other browsers, if not even easier.

Once you find a theme you like, click "Install", and the "Install Now" button on the pop-up. This auto-installs the theme, but in order to use it you must also activate it. So click "Activate" after you preview it and are sure it is the one you want. You can upload several to your theme installer page, and switch around until you are satisfied. I have noticed that some widgets can disappear depending on theme, so take care to have a back up in place if you have done a lot of customization that it would hurt to lose.

You can also buy and install WordPress themes that have customizations you might feel are worth paying for. Easy to find with a Google search.

You now know everything you need to know to install any WordPress blog theme you want for your business, so take this info and run with it. Make it happen today!
